What Should You Know Before The Test

Biochemistry tests are used to analyze the chemical processes and substances in the body, helping to diagnose conditions such as diabetes, kidney disease, liver function disorders, and electrolyte imbalances. They measure things like glucose, enzymes, lipids, proteins, and hormones.
Biochemistry tests commonly use blood and urine samples. However, depending on the specific test, other bodily fluids such as cerebrospinal fluid may also be used.
Some biochemistry tests, such as those measuring glucose, cholesterol, or lipid levels, may require fasting for 8-12 hours beforehand. Always follow your healthcare provider's instructions regarding fasting.
